After the lord of the rings, laceys of Liverpool is the second English fiction book that imprints deep impression upon my heart.
Miranda turns out to be a fast improved English book reader. She has finished several books during two-week holiday. That compels us to buy more classical English books from second hand shop and Amazon(cause they are cheaper!). some I knew the title and have read part of them, like: Around the world in 80 days, the wizard of OZ, Alice in Wonderland… Some I barely heard before: Black beauty, the secret garden, little princess… Thanks for the waldorf student reading list, we bought quiet a lot of wonderful books. Miranda reads those books like running an endless game. she finished the black beauty in one or two weeks, then moved on to the secret garden. and the next she plans to read Alice in wonderland.
I do not have much time to read, but the happiness of Miranda on reading books stimulates me and wife to read more English books. I have finished Da vince code and Angel and Demon due to the movie and religion reason. I bought Laceys of Liverpool during the library clearance sale. Partly because the texts at the bottom of the cover: the most romantic book in 1998. I was totally absorbed once I started to read it. Envy and love make the conflicts among the family members. The story just like reeling the history and showing a vivid movie on how a family broke and reunited again. From time to time, something touch the deep inside of your heart from the words. It has been showed on a lot of different movies, yet no motion pictures can express the feeling than the plain words from the book.
